A Smarter Way to Handle Tough Recoveries
At Cape Coral Towing & Recovery, we know that not every job can be handled with a standard wrecker. Challenging terrain, limited access, and heavy equipment recoveries require a more adaptable solution — one that gives our crew control, mobility, and safe pulling power without overloading the scene. That’s exactly what our hydraulic winch box system was built for.
What’s A Winch Box?
Our winch box is a custom-fabricated recovery tool mounted to a Kubota SVL75-2 track loader and powered by its hydraulic system. It’s not a backup plan — it’s a purpose-built system we rely on for situations where traditional towing equipment isn’t the best fit.
The unit travels with us on our dedicated “Off Road Recovery” rollback and can be deployed in minutes. Once on-site, it gives us the ability to apply precise pulling force in hard-to-reach or unstable areas without the risk of tearing up soft ground or needing additional anchor points.
Proven Performance in the Field - Winch Box
The winch box system has already been deployed successfully in multiple recovery scenarios throughout our service area:
Loaded Semi Recovery: A tractor-trailer stuck in soft pasture was recovered without the use of a heavy wrecker. The winch box was positioned on stable ground and provided controlled, direct pulling without causing additional rutting or requiring backup units.
Excavator Extraction: Ground conditions on-site were too unstable to support a full-size wrecker. The winch box allowed for remote recovery from a safer distance, avoiding any chance of equipment becoming further embedded.
Canal-Side Recovery: A rental lift truck sank near a canal behind a residential property. The winch box enabled a clean pull from solid ground with no intrusion on the surrounding landscape or need to bring in larger, more invasive equipment.
Roadside Loader Recovery: A compact loader became stuck on a soft shoulder. Using the winch box, our crew pulled the unit back without disrupting traffic or requiring additional anchor vehicles.
Each of these recoveries was completed using the same system — our custom-mounted hydraulic winch box, powered by the Kubota SVL75-2, staged and transported via our rollback marked “Off Road Recovery.”
A Smarter Way to Handle Tough Recoveries
At Cape Coral Towing & Recovery, we’re always looking for ways to improve our service, especially when it comes to complex or hard-to-reach recoveries. The winch box system gives us more control, more options, and better outcomes — without relying on oversized equipment or risky workarounds.
It’s one more way we’re investing in doing things right, using tools that are purpose-built for the challenges we actually face in the field. Whether it’s a stuck semi, sunken equipment, or a recovery in soft terrain, the winch box helps us get the job done safely, efficiently, and without unnecessary damage.
If you ever find yourself in a situation where traditional towing just won’t cut it — we’re ready.
